A retro-inspired identity system created for an independent film production company influenced by the visual language of 1940s and 1950s cinema.
Over Coffee Films was developed as a retro-inspired visual identity for an independent production company rooted in the spirit of classic American filmmaking. The client drew inspiration from the filmmakers, cinema culture, and graphic aesthetics of the 1940s and 1950s, so the goal was to create a mark that felt nostalgic without becoming overly vintage or kitschy.

The final logo combines warm muted oranges, deep reds, and cream tones with layered diamond framing inspired by classic cinema signage. A script typeface was paired with bold condensed lettering to balance elegance and readability while reinforcing the era-specific aesthetic.
Throughout the exploration phase, multiple badge systems, typography treatments, and dimensional layouts were tested to find the right balance between handcrafted warmth and cinematic professionalism.
The result is a brand identity that feels conversational, nostalgic, and distinctly film-centric — reflecting the idea that great stories often begin “over coffee.”
